Ingredients
- 8 fl oz soy sauce
- 4 fl oz sesame oil
- 8 fl oz tomato sauce or paste
- 0.5 oz chicken base
- 16 fl oz hot water
- 2.5 tsp garlic powder
- 2.5 tsp ginger powder
- 0.5 packet ramen beef seasoning (1/2 to 1/3 of packet)
Method
-
1In a pot, combine soy sauce, sesame oil, and tomato sauce in a 2:1:1 ratio respectively. Heat the mixture over medium heat to a simmer, stirring occasionally and being careful not to burn the ingredients.
-
2In a separate bowl, whisk chicken base with hot water until dissolved.
-
3Once the soy mixture is simmering, slowly add the chicken broth to the pot.
-
4Add garlic powder, ginger powder, and 1/2 to 1/3 of the ramen beef seasoning packet.
-
5Stir to combine and simmer until flavors are well integrated.
Notes
Maintain a gentle simmer throughout cooking to prevent burning. The key ratios are approximately 2:1 for soy sauce to sesame oil, and 1:1 for soy sauce to tomato. Ensure the broth is simmering before adding the chicken broth mixture for optimal flavor development.
